The Yates' Family Blog

Okay--so it HAS truly been over a year since I last posted, but I'm turning over a new leaf. I'm going to start updating this weekly for interested family and friends. Isaac is now 2 years 8 months old! He is now speaking in full sentences, asking questions (and more questions--"why" is a new favorite), making new friends (and learning about keeping his hands and feet to himself), and regularly going potty! He is fully potty trained-thanks to a full summer of working diligently AND to Alisia Dunning for being so consistent while I'm at work! He even takes a nap in underwear! Can you believe it? His favorite things to do include: playing cars, building with blocks, jumping (and more jumping), making music, coloring, swinging, collecting things (he loves this one in particular), and many other exciting boy things! Here is a recent picture of him!

Isaac's first airplane and beach adventures
Isaac got to hang out with Micah-his mom and dad are missionaries from our church in Eleuthera. He had so much fun with Micah!
This past summer in June/July 2010, our family had the incredible opportunity to go on a mission trip in Eleuthera, Bahamas. It was Isaac's first time on an airplane. He LOVED it! He liked looking out the window.

Isaac starts walking
Isaac started walking around 14 months old. He began by first standing alone. Then he went to walking behind toys with wheels, and, within a matter of about a month, he was beginning to take steps all on his own. He was very proud of himself! He enjoyed his new freedom. Now we can't get him to slow down! : )

9 1/2 months!
Isaac is 9 1/2 months old! In the past month, he has learned to:
- crawl without just plain "army crawling"
- clap his hands
- eat some simple table foods
- graduate to 3rd stage baby food
- sleep for longer at night (goes to bed around 6:30 or 7 and wakes up at 6am)
- stand for longer periods of time with assistance
- play for longer periods of time
- turn pages of board books
- enjoy a soccer game
- enjoy a football game
- pull himself up on his knees on the side of his crib
- sleep with his little frog in his crib and sometimes use it as a pillow
Halloween!
SFA Homecoming Weekend
Here we are at the SFA Homecoming Parade. Isaac didn't get scared at all of loud floats, marching bands, and firetrucks. He really enjoyed watching it all and taking it all in. In case you didn't know, SFA's mascot is the lumberjacks...we are "giving the axe". On the right, Isaac watches the parade intently with Granny.
